The Refund Story
When Wayne Ormond launched Refund Home Loans in 2004 with the promise to refund its customers a share of its commissions, it was just another small broker with no market share or reputation.
Today, six years later, Refund Home Loans is acknowledged by its peers as a leader in the mortgage broker industry, as demonstrated by an array of industry awards and respect for its professional and business standards and is positioned as the leading mortgage broker unaligned with a major bank.
Since its inception, the Refund Group has grown significantly and now has over 350 Franchisees nationally in every state and territory. Today Refund has a head office staff of more than 40 providing full corporate back up and support for the company’s Australia-wide network of Franchisees.
The company’s unique selling proposition sets the Refund Group apart from our competitors. Refund believes in the philosophy of building success through sharing with its customers; the business is run so that it directly benefits its customers by sharing its commission with customers as a way of saying “thank you for doing business with us.”
A significant element in Wayne’s concept from the outset was the benefit of adding professional and qualified synergistic services alongside its Refund mortgage broking service in order to provide additional and related benefits to homebuyers.
In 2006 Refund Finance & Leasing was added to the Group, followed in 2008 by Refund Property. An alliance was announced with the largest financial planning group in Australia, Professional Investment Services (PIS) with Refund Financial Planning commencing in February 2010. The most recent addition to these successful business models, Refund Real Estate was launched in September 2010.
